Education and Training
The Ballybeen Women’s Centre has developed the Steps to the Future model that widens access to education and training opportunities in response to gaps in provision within the area and addresses the needs of our target population.
Our key objectives are to:
- Identify and address barriers faced by women returning to education and training though the provision of crèche facilities and a supportive learning environment.
- Encourage the acquisition of skills from basic ICT skills to CLAIT to ECDL.
- Provide opportunities for women to improve essential literacy and numeracy skills and increase their confidence levels.
- Encourage the acquisition of new skills and accredited qualifications through a range of education and training courses.
- Provide training in job search skills to enable women to participate in the labour market.
- Provide support and assistance in identifying education and training needs and appropriate progression routes.
An extensive range of courses is available at the start of each term when women can enrol onto them. Click here to view details of the available courses.
